Gender Transformative Communication

Alternative Masculinity Education

We created a gender transformative communication toolkit for Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Asia that demonstrates how communication strategies can be implemented in practice: in designing and conducting programmes, events and social media campaigns. It lays out best practices as well as common pitfalls in visual and other ways of communication in five areas: politics and democracy, labour rights, social-ecological transformation, future of work, and peace, security and international cooperation.

Access the toolkit here.

This visual guideline is designed to engage men and boys in shaping alternative masculinity. This is part of our research funded by ALIGN on educating men and boys about masculinity in India to address violence against women and girls. The visual toolkit aims to assist organisations who wish to work with boys and men. The toolkit can be used to guide a new curriculum or to assess an existing one. There are also some concrete steps on how one can shape alternative masculinities.
